Did you know a horse’s pelvis moves similarly to ours? This movement can be used in a treatment strategy called ‘Hippotherapy’ that incorporates horses into a person’s Physiotherapy intervention.

WHAT IS HIPPOTHERAPY?

Hippotherapy can be a beneficial treatment strategy for people with disability and can address a variety of challenges. These include postural control, balance, coordination, endurance, range of motion, attention and strength.

benefits

Our therapist assesses and continuously monitors clients with disability, and their responses to movement inputs provided by the horse. A variety of positions and exercises can be prescribed during treatment to reach individualised goals.

Parent's tell me what a joy it is to bring their child to therapy. It is very rewarding to see my clients working toward therapy goals with such engagement and enthusiasm

COST (NDIS FUNDING)

Hippotherapy can be supported through a participant’s NDIS plan under ‘Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living’. Please contact us for more information on pricing and using your NDIS package.
